The enclosed Inner Quadrant housed babies, toddlers and the oldest senior girls. It was constantly swathed in drapes of sheets and clothing drying in the sun and filled with the echoing of crying babies, playing toddlers and the bell ringing for meal times.<\/p>\n

The Mamas in charge had their hands full with nursing babies, feeding, sorting washing, and keeping order. Senior girls had a little privacy, with shared rooms instead of large dormitories and often helped the Mamas out with the youngest children.<\/p>\n

There was a small chapel room by the main entrance doors for solitude prayers and it was always decorated at Christmas<\/p>\n<\/div>
